It went really well. The office is perfectly sized, I get my own desk and workspace, there is a small kitchen and an excellent dining area where we have our meals.
Today I was working on a plan showing all of the utility lines that are running underneath a person’s property. It was simply something they requested so they know where they can and can’t dig, but it was very time intensive to make sure every line was placed. It was kind of amazing because I was picking up things we never really talk about in design school, the nuts and bolts that ground a great idea in reality.
The office environment is really great as well. There are only four of us total (two partners, an architect, and myself) but just through overhearing the delegation of work to outside contractors, landscape architects, etc. through phone calls, emails and the like it is clear to see how the work gets done so quickly. I feel like I really got accomplished a lot today, so I hope that this continues for my next couple of weeks here.
